Hello everyone!

So we finally printed the product and it look very satisfying and cute because of the smaller size. So we decided to print it in parts and assembling it on our on because printing in assemble was not able to happen because of a few problems. But still we can make it happen!

The parts printed.

Assembling process.

We decided to use hot glue gun as our adhesive agent because it is easy to handle and clean.

Tadaa! The final look of our 3D model. We could not be prouder on how it turned out!

Thank you so much especially for the Chipolo Crew that worked so hard on this project. Dr Manami and Dr Azrol that continuously support and help us in order to teach us to be the best. The lab assistant Puan Fadilah that helped us along the process. Our classmates for their support and encouragement. Thank you so much everyone. We do appreciate even the little things that you did for us. It has been a great journey, a great knowledge, a great project, very inspiring and very helpful for us. Again thank you to anyone involve.

Looking forward for the next project!

See you guys.

Hello everyone!

So last time we fiished on our 3D assembling. We finally went to the lab that provide Rapid Protoype (RP) machine to continue our Reverse Engineering process which is producing the prototype using machine. We finally able to see, touch and experiance the machine. It was definitely a great experiance and knowledge.

RP Machine

"Rapid Prototyping is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part of assembly using 3D computer aided design (CAD) data. Construction of the part or assembly is usually done using 3D or "additive layer manufacturing" technology" (Wikipedia, 2016).

RP Machine

This is the RP machine at our department. It is pretty huge and look so heavy. It is connected to a computer that read our 3D drawing. This is where the printing process happen. This machine using Polyjet and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) for the materials. These materials can be pretty costy but the properties are good and excellence espeacially for the people that looking for plastic and durable kind of properties.

Software that read 3D drawing.

This is the software that read our STL file 3D drawing. It will determine all parts that need to be printed and calculate the amount of materials needed with the time taken to finish the printing process

We are grateful that we have no problem to face in this process like other groups need to reduce the scale their drawings. we are lucky because we have used a small and appropriate scale.

This is the inside of RP machine and how the printing the product.

Water Work Machine

Water Work Machine

This is the water work machine. After the product have been printed by the RP machine. This machine will degrade all the base structure leaving the only 3D part model.

Water Work Process

Materials used to fabricate base & support structures and

3D part that has been soaked for 12 hours

This process takes around 12 hours to finished, because the 3D parts should be immersed in the material using a water machine around 12-hour to eliminate the base and support structure.

We offer our gratitude and big thanks to our beloved lecturer Puan Manami for the patient and kindness showed in order to teach us and also the lab assistant Puan Fadilah that helped us a lot during the process. Thank you very much.

See you next time.
Have a great day.

Hello everyone!

So today we finished our task on assembling all the parts. We separated the USB Plug into five parts and each and everyone of us got one part to make a 3D out of it, the next step is assembling. We need to assemble all 3D parts back into the original USB Plug. We do make a few changes in our design in order to avoid copyright issues or something like that.

So here are the results of our assembling (please click the picture to enlarge):

That is all for now. More update soon, Thank you for checking out. Have a nice day!

Hello Everyone!

So today we will update our latest assignment which is making 3D for each parts of the USB Plug that we have separated. Please click to enlarge the picture.

Thank you for checking out.

Hello everyone!
So last week we need to select a product for our rapid prototyping project.
And we are doing 'reverse engeneering' technique.
We selected a USB Plug that have unique shapes and five different parts.

USB PLUG

Because we have 4 members and each and everyone of us need to do their own part.

After disassembled all the parts of the USB Plug. We need to measure every section of our parts and do a technical drawing for every part. Here are the hand technical drawing for the selected USB Plug (please click on the picture to enlarge):

Will be updated our progress. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to our page.
We would like to do a little bit of introduction about Chipolo Design.

We are the students of Industrial Design from Faculty of Design and Architecture University of Putra Malaysia.

We have been assigned to do a project for the subject of IND 3402 Advanced Computer Aided Design conducted by our lecture Dr. Khairul manami Kamarudin & Dr. Azrol Kassim

Any progress about the projects will be updated here in order to keep and share the knowledge.

Here are the crews of Chipolo Design:

We have 4 members of Chipolo Design.

Nur Amirah Najiah Al-Husna Binti Abdul Razak

Nur Faten Hidayah Binti Hanudin

Nur Fauzani Binti Rasat

Our hopes are that we all manage to get an A for this subject. In addition, we also hope we can really enjoy and understand this subject and use the knowledge for our future. Lastly, we hope this blog will be useful for us now and probably in the future and beyond than that this blog able to share knowledge about our subject to whoever in the world that may need it.

Do support us everyone! Thank you!
